Default passengr wiper not wiping window proper

Ok on the S40 we have the passenger side wiper is working as it should for the most part, however theres a small portion of the window near the top (blue area) that the wiper is clearly moving over but it is not clearing out the water, but I checked the wipers, they are brand new with in a week old, and the motor is working, and the window has no cracks, pits or any window damage so im kinda at a loss as to what is going on here, I have been searching but the results are pulling things that really arn't related to me or this issue so I am asking for some assistance, I am wondering if the arm its self is going bad but I wouldn't think the arm would be bad after 12 years, but who knows, any suggestions?? Thanks for the help.

The Volvo 850 has an issue with the wiper loosing windshield contact at the edge of travel on the drivers side. It usually happens to the cars that are over 10 years old.

The problem has something to do with the base of the arm deforming over the years. Some people would take the arm off and bend it at the lower joint, some would file down a stop at the hinge base. Others, like myself, replaced the arm with one from another Volvo all together.

If I were you, I would remove the arm and bend it near the attachment end.

By attachment end I assume you mean the wiper blade end or do you mean where it attaches to the motor head, at the base of the arm?
