possible fuel pump issue?
 

Hi all,

I have 1992 240. 246,000 kms. Low, I know.

Recently its engine has been cutting out at idle a bit. Then the other day, I was driving and it started sputtering. I called BCAA, and the guy changed a fuse. It ran great. Turned out, it was the fuse to the main fuel pump. The check engine light went off and it ran better than it has in a while. Later that evening, the check engine came back on and it started sputtering (losing power) again. I checked the fuses and they were ok. My gas was just below quarter, so I went and filled up. It ran mostly fine, still with the check engine light on. It occasionally does the sputter thing, but runs well as long as I keep more gas in it.

What do you think of this problem? What could it be?
