I edited this post as I have the radio figured out. Still confused about trunk though..

Do the trunk releases on these car have a common problem? i can hear it engage but the lid wont budge. is there a manual release on the inside of the trunk bay that I can access from the fold down rear seat? Where is the drivers trunk release?? I couldn't find it so have just been trying to open by key and fob. no dice : /

 

I waited the two hours and unlocked the radio. Now, problem is, the three control ***** on the bottom will continuously shift up and down. when you turn up the volume it will go up a little, down a little, up a little.. So frustrating and next to impossible to control anything..
Does this mean the unit has expired? Can I replace those control *****? I'm pretty tech savy so can fix it if someone can llink me. Thanks a lot!
