Default Rattling Noise From v50 undercarriage

I have a 2006 v50 t5 awd 110005miles

i've been a little annoyed lately with some of the plastic crap thats used in the undercarriage. any time i hit the slightest bump it rattle as if the plastic undercarriage shield is loose and about to fall off. i've take the whole thing off then put it back in place and tightened the 7 screws that hold it down tight. but it still persist in a rattling noise. it sounds a lot like a when a fat kid jumps off a diving board and the board vibrates for a few seconds after he hits the water. any input?

I love the description. I get a little noise too that I haven't figured out yet. It doesn't sound as bad as yours though. Check the exhaust hangers and sway bar end links too.

It sounds like a plastic part thats come loose. I tested a few things with no success. I tried driving with the undercarriage splash guard off. then i though i would try the pull out tarp grocery protector thing since it is a v50. Neither one was the source of the noise.
So after driving with those out of the car i grabbed the exhaust and shook it with my hand to see if any of the hangers were loose or hitting. Then i tried tugging on the rear sway bar. Both appeared pretty solid with little noise.

As for additional details on this i have found that the rattling is really noticable going downhill when im coasting. Maybe just because of less engine noise. Im certain that what ever is loose it is in the front part of the car because i tested it by driving over a bump with the front wheels only then the rear. I have also recently rotated my tires i dont see how this could be the source of the rattling unless a couple lugs are loose.

So as of now my primary suspect would be the front plastic wheel wells unless anyone has any other ideas?

Good idea to check the fender inserts. Also check the front bumper attachments at the front underneath.

So i took it in to have the timing belt done and oil leak fixed. The said the source of the noise was in my struts and controller arms. They replaced the front part struts, controller arms, springs and im sure the spring seats. The noise finally stopped. I got it all done at a private mechanic who did everything for 2500.

Glad to hear. The price doesn't sound too bad for all that was done either.
