Default Really bizarre scary problem!

My car is idling really low, like 500. Sometimes it recovers and comes back up at stoplights, but sometimes it sits at 500 the whole time. It makes the car run very rough. Also, when slowing down, the idle bounces up and down before settling.

What could this be?
I'm taking it to the dealer tomorrow hopefully. Pray for me!

I cleaned the IAC and it maybe helped a little bit...
I was thinking maybe a vac leak.
I do not have a CEL or anything.

That leads me more to the idle motor messing up.

I like it too!

Is the IAC the only thing that would cause a low idle. WHat about a vac leak? Would a vac leak set off a CEL?

This may help too: it only messes up when the engine is warmed up. It's fine when it's cold.

Possible a vacuum leak could cause it I would listed closely and see if you can hear it with the car running. Also there is a hose from the intercooler to the intake check and see if it is cracked.

Thanks on the pics that is Capo Cam I had him do it for me.

I have a EST CAI so it sucks a lot!
I need to have a freakin' garage! It's 27 degrees and freezing rain right now!

I was thinking about this. I haven't had the car up to highway speeds and temperatures in months. Do you suppose if I drove like 2 hrs on the interstate it might help?

How about the MAF? I wonder if I used some of the CRC cleaner on it it may help. I have the CAI with cone filter, the MAF could have some oil on it I suppose?

I'm taking it to the dealer ASAP. It's getting really scary. It lugs way down to 500-600 RPM's and then gradually comes back up. When it lugs down, all the lights in the cabin dim.

I want this fixed!
Pray for me!

I drove ~100 miles on the highway at 60-75 MPH and no change.
Bummer.

TEch, do you know if the IAC in a 2001 is the same as a 2000?
I was thinking of buying the one of the parts car being sold on here?

Ok, cleaned the MAF. Forgot to reconnect the electrical connection, drove around the block. DSA light stayed on. Remembered electrical connection. Went home, stopped car, fan continues running, reconnect MAF, CEL comes on (!!!!!). Drive around block, DSA light disappears, but CEL is still lit.

Made appt. for dealer tomorrow morning.
Screw THIS!!! It didn't even solve my problem!

CEL turned off, DSA light off.

Car is at the dealer about the low idle. $60 diagnosis charge.
