Very strange issue here. The rear windows on our 2005 S40 roll down automatically and randomly on their own. It first happened when my wife unlocked the car with the remote key, but now it happens randomly. Anybody ever seen this before or have an idea what it might be? We recently brought it in for the 52500 mile service but as far as I know they didn't touch any electronics.

Forgive me if you are already aware of this, but if you hold down the unlock button on the key fob for 5 seconds ALL your windows will roll down. May have something to do with it. My 2005 Volvo S40 will do this, but sometimes one of the rear windows doesn't roll down with the rest, maybe your hitting the unlock button in your pocket but have the reverse problem?
I recall getting a software update when i got the car new and it was suppose to address this problem, started happening again... just thought i would share.

 

Think the key here is that ALL windows roll down with this feature...I like using this in the summer. If just the rear windows are going down then I can't see that it's operator error...
