Rim size and offset

Rim size and offset
For the car in my sig (02 s40 1.9t) equiped with 195/60/15s, what's an acceptable rim size and matching tire combination that is cheap but be an upgrade, i.e. using 205/60/15 or 205/50/16 or what not.
Will 205/60/15 fit on the stock volvo rims with no problems? What are rims and tires I can safely upgrade? (I have some ultra lightweight rims in mind with low profile tires)

RE: Rim size and offset
I have Enki graphite ultralite wheels on my 02 S40 with 205/60/15 Toyo Proxes tires. If the car is carrying more than 2 people,I can get a bit of tire scrub on the right rear wheel on hard bumps.I have correct offset on the wheels and use centering rings to be sure they are on properly.Tolerances on these little cars are pretty tight so dont go overboard and u will be ok. Also take into account how the car is used and what ur load is. I am usually the only person in mine so I dont worry much about clearances normally.BJ

Thanks, I appreciate it. So you're saying under 1 person driving 205/60/15s are good? Well I mean technically if there just a bit too wide, I wouldn't want ot risk it, it's just I have some new winter tires that I might want to use that were supposed to go on my old car before it got written off.

As I said, with just me up I have no clearance issues with the 205/60/15 Proxes. With more than 2 up and on a hard bump,I get a bit of scrub on the right rear only (I assume road crown related). It scrubs on the two bolts on the front of the lower fender lip,as they protrude out about 1/2 inch.If they were not there or the tires were a wee bit narrower,I would have no clearance issues at all.As these are new tires when they get a little wear they may not scrub period.Lol.BJ
