Default Rubbing noise when engine runs

I noticed recently that my 2001 S40 makes this strange sound that sounds like a belt rubbing against something. It only does it if the car is driven a short distance or upon cold startup. If I drive it enough for the car to warm up completely, the noise is gone.
I checked the timing belt cover and it is on correctly.
Thanks!

Here's a video of the sound

does it change pitch when you turn the steering wheel (steering pump test) or cycle the AC on/off (AC clutch)? does it change pitch when you add an electrical load (high beams on/ rear defogger on, blower motor on) to test the alternator?

Did you listen around with a mechanics stethescope or try a rubber tube as a listener?

At cold startup when it sounded like that I put a little drops of water on the timing belt, the sound stoped for a few seconds and then came back until the belt is warm.. it soudns to me like the belt is rubbing againts the main pulley on the crank shaft

Could be the timing belt tensioner pulley bearing. If so... if it comes apart or seizes, your pistons and valves will get in a fistfight, and the valves will lose spectacularly.

What's the mileage on the car, and has it ever had a timing belt replaced?

I am sorry, I forggot to mention that the timing belt and pump, also both aux belts, tensioner and alternator pulley had been replaced when I got the car 5000 km ago. What bothers me is that it sounds like that only for a few minutes at cold startup, so I think if it was some bearing it would sound like that all the time ( or am I wrong? ). I put in parts from INA, and the car is 2009 xc70 D5

In a situation like this, a mechanic's stethoscope is your best friend. Just catch it while the noise is still there, and check the serpentine (auxiliary) belt tensioner pulley, alternator, and anything else that's turning that you can get to (putting the probe on the non-moving part, of course). ;-) Hopefully it's NOT anything to do with the timing belt, but if you don't find it "above the timing belt cover", don't go too long without making sure it isn't something that's "under the cover".

There are 2 components that run using the serpentine belts. The alternator and the AC compressor. My money is on alternator use a stethoscope to listen and see what part is the loudest
