Default S40 1.8 low acceleration (VVT Issues)

Hello guys,
I own a 2000 S40 1.8L 123hp, so far no big issues, but everytime i accelerate the car, even full throttle, the power only comes after 4K RPM, and if I go further 5.5k RPM an engine light comes up and that says Camshaft sensor position A...
When I stop the car the engine light dissapears but low acceleration is still there... i cant even do a burnout in 1st gear....

Mileage ok, no weird noises (as far as I can describe, only engine mounts and front suspension needs to be replaced)

What could that be?!

I'm not all that familiar with your particular engine, but I'd check to see if maybe the timing belt has jumped on (one of?) the cam(s). If it has, fix it ASAP or sooner, since if it slips a bit more, it can turn your engine into a paperweight.

The engine is a B4184S2 On Torque App it shows an error on the camshaft, I researched a bit, people say to replace or the solenoid or the pulley, but concerning timing belt it seems ok! car starts at first crank, even in cold weather... it has a K&N performane airfilter in OEM box, some people say that could the issue also, but i have no power when I start from a traffic stop for example, 1st gear full throttle car feels like is stalling or about to go down...

which codes have been displayed? that should give you some idea if your VVT is not actuating. I'd also pop off the timing belt cover to make sure there's no signs of leaking. The VVT is driven by oil pressure so it could be the solenoid or the gear itself. Plenty of threads have discussed this topic including people who've had some success doing a Seafoam treatment to help clear the oil galleys etc. Most posts are related to the 1.9T but I'd suspect the VVT set up is the same for the NA.

The error code is:
P0341 Camshaft Position Sensor A Bank 1 CKT Range/Performance
but the car runs somehow ok, starts good, it just has that "power hole" between 2k and 4k RPM

OK that code is telling you there's an issue with either the cam position sensor or the wiring harness or connector going to the cam position sensor.

Thanks for the help!! The thing is, this error only happens if i go full throttle and pass +- 5.5k RPM, if I shut down the car and turn it back on, error code is cleared... I know something is off with the engine but I'll check the wirings!!
