I lost my key and remote. Lucky enough had a spare key but only the key. But no convenience now. Have turn key to open and lock.

Dealer wants loads of cash to replace. Can anyone help. In South Africa.

 

You can save a few Rand buying a new remote from sellers online but the dealer has to program the remote to the car. And do not buy a used junkyard remote. The dealer must have the code that comes in the package with the new remote.

Unless you can find someone local who can program Volvo ECMs, you are stuck with the dealer. I would call the local independent import car shops and see what they can do for you.
