S40 2005 - Wheel area rubbing sound on idle turn
I may have overlooked a similar post on this that answers the question but I hope not. State if it does and I'll delete this.
My 2005 S40 1.8 has a rubbing sound coming from the wheel make up on the nearside front. From cars before, I assume this is the CV joint, if not maybe the bearing.
I have looked for a CV joint kit to renew the old one and hopefully fix the problem, however not even the main dealer seems to sell individual CV joint kits for this car, only drive shafts with CV and boot adjoined.
If there are any other 2005 S40 owners out there that have had the same problem, please help and may list the steps you took, maybe if you have time, the dis-assembly procedure since it sounds like it's more of a job than on other substandard cars.
For anyone who isn't sure, this is the 2005 MK2 S40. 1.8 petrol.
Thanks for the chance to chat to a community about these problems.
