i have a clicking noise coming from my engine, it sounds like a grandfather clock, it stays the same whether i rev up or not, it seems to be coming from the left of the engine, any ideas before i pull it apart and can't put it back together !!!

 

i forgot to say it sounds like its coming from inside the rocker cover

 

cant really say off of that...good luck though..

 

I would almost have to hear it to try to help.

 

any chance this is the pistons?mine click upon start up and then fade once the car settles in

 

Yours might be lifters not pistons.
