Default S40 Losing Power

Good Day Everyone.

I recently noticed my 2000 Volvo S40 Non Turbo loses power upon acceleration. This happens uphill & sometimes on highways & freeways. After pressing the accelerator for some time, there's no response in power & then all power comes back & the car feels like I'm in a race.

Please advice as to what I need to look for.

Thank you.

Could be an issue with the throttle body. They are known to have issues in that year range.

Any CELs? Vacuum leak?

I'd look at intake air leaks, boost controller (including its vacuum line), fuel pressure (that model is prone to having the fuel pressure regulator fail). +1 on looking for CELs. finding air leaks may require a smoke test but start with the obvious for vacuum lines, intake air tubing/couplings etc. Any damage to the intercooler?
