I have a volvo s4o 2009 2.0 diesel I have lost my key will the locks ecu and clocks from a v50 work or would I need to get the key programmed as well thanks for any advice Tony

 

most newer cars with chips on the key require dealer programming. You should call your dealer to see what proof of ownership with the VIN to see what else is needed.

 

Yes, there is no alternative to going to the dealership to get a key programmed. I talked my local (Arizona) dealer into programming an aftermarket key, but not all of them will do that, and might require a fresh ($$$$$) Volvo key.
