S40 se 2009 indicator fault
Hi I'm having an issue where the front and rear indicators on the drivers side are not working, only the mirror one flashes rapidly. When I use the indicator stalk to turn right the mirror indicator and dash light flash rapidly. The left side is working normally! Not sure if it is a faulty stalk or a relay issue
any help appreciated

I'm guessing your BMW is a right-drive car?
May be a dumb question - but have you checked to see if the bulbs are OK in the right turn signals / indicators? Put on the right turn signal, and open the access panel over the right tail light. See if you can wiggle the bulb holder and get the lamp to start working (if only intermittently). It's common for the connections to get flaky - a little cleaning and re-tensioning may have them working again in short order.

yep, I agree with Habby. The indicators use a capacitor circuit which triggers the relay. the charge up time of the capacitor varies with resistance so when a bulb or two go out, the capacitor charges quickly and thus the faster cadence of the blinking. So check bulbs, connector sockets, ground points to start.
