S40 Stalling Issues
Hey everyone,
My wife has a 2002 Volvo S40 1.9T that was in a front end accident a few weeks ago. After we got the car back from the body shop I noticed the Idle Air Control Valve's connector was cracked. I told the body shop and they replaced the part. Now, every once in a while (every few days) the car will stall when coming to a stop. The car just idles down a shuts off (very smoothly). I checked for vacuum leaks and all of the wiring harnesses in the area of the body work. Nothing out of the ordinary was found. A snap-on smoke machine was used to check for leaks.
Here is a list of the items that were changed:
-New vacuum pump (for brake booster)
-New IAC
-New front wheel ABS sensor
-New headlamps
-New intercooler
-New Radiator
-New hood
If I tap the gas pedal lightly, the idle goes up a little then drops to almost stall levels than evens out again. The car has the ABS and DSA light on due to a faulty ABS module (got the part to replace soon). It is almost as if the transmissions doesn't disengage fast enough when coming to a stop causing the stall. Any suggestions?
