S40 Sterio Upgrade
Hello All,
i know we all love our Volvo S40 but from 05 onwards we have a really cool intergrated system that we cant just stick any sterio unit in, so is there any way we can get an upgraded version that plays mp3 and with bluetooth connection to replace the older ones, any idea or advice on this i have looked and searched but everything i find is for older models or dont seem to be right, i am 100 percent sure you cant replace it with a normal one lol

What system do you have now? If you have the Premium system (6 disk changer and Dolby ProLogic) then you can add a Dension Gateway 500. This will give you the capability to plug in an mp3 player, iPod, etc. I think there is also a bluetooth option.
There is a Volvo mechanic on SS who thinks a system swap can be done but I have not seen any confirmed cases. You would be hard pressed to find a dealer willing to do the swap and load the new software in an older car. Mine said, NO WAY! I had to ask.
