Default s40 SUNROOF

Hi guys, firstly can i just say this is my first post and im glad to be a part of such a cool volvo forum.

Right straight on to the techi stuff......ive managed to buy a s40 turbo, sweet car leathers air con the works...... But the problem i had was the sunroof was smashed.

I have managed to hunt one down from the breakers and have it sitting in the shed.

With the rainy season here i desperatly need to fit this asap.

Can someone please advise on best way.

I would appreciate any pictures on how to remove the existing one and fit new one. Im guessing that i may have to remove roof interior lining in order to replace the complete sunroof. I am a very much a hands on person so would be willing to take it to bits and put back together.

I just need some pics or diagrams on where all the screws are and best way to remove the intire sunroof.

Would appreciate any help...as i cant drive it at the moment have it siting in the garage.

Cheers

Munshy

The glass smashed - the bonnet came up on the motor way and smashed the screen and sunroof.....i think just glass but the slider under sunroof doesnt move as freely maybe broked glass stuck in the runners.

I dont wana rip the interior if i try to remove the roof lining to get to the sunroof......would love to know how it comes apart all screws and nuts....

Cheers

So you want to pull the entire Headlining and remove the entire assembly from the car to inspect?

The Headlining is pretty easy to get loose but more of a pain to get out.
Remove all the grab Handles from the Roof. Then the rear clips that go through the headliner to the metal should turn and pop out. You might also have to remove the interior light assembly as well.

Then is should drop.

Yep thats what i want to do - I need to remove the headlining....

When u say its easy to get loose but a pain to get out what do u mean..... I dont wanna force it out as it may not fit back perfect.
I will start by removing all the grab handles and any other bits that may look like they are in the way....will i need to removed the post covers too.

Thanks
