My S40 will not start. The starter won't even turn. I get an error message "Wheel not locked" and " Turn Wheel". What is wrong and how much will it cost to fix. Thanks

 

Oh, btw, the steering wheel is not really locked. I can turn the steering wheel even though I get that message. I suspect some stupid sensor is hosed. That really make me mad that it shuts down the whole car!

 

What year is it?
I assume it is a 2004.5 or newer. The steering sensor might be messing up. I haven't messed with the newer ones to much.

 

I had the car (2005 S40) towed to the dealer. They replaced the ignition switch and steering column lock. The car was about 5K miles out of warranty. FYI, Volvo picked up the cost of the parts but I paid 3-hours of labor.
