sudden drop in hw mpg

have a 2000 s40 that has been getting 25+ city and 32 hwy. over the last two weeks the hwy mileage has dropped to 26 or lower. the city has not changed. any ideas? would a bad O2 sensor only effect hwy??

Yeah bad o2 sensor, temperature change, tire pressure, air filter.

It is easy to check the O2 sensors if you have a multi meter. I will post the directions later once I get back home. I don't want to miss anything.
