Default Thinkin' about an 05' S40 to drive in winter

As opposed to my 2011 C30 T5, cause it's going to be a non-replaceable unit with the ending of production here in the states. The car I'm looking at is close to mint with 130,000 mi. and it reminds me of the little white car so much except for the pep. Any advice, warnings, recalls, bad vibes I should be aware of? It's only $3k and very pretty.... IMHO.

Make sure the timing belt was done at 120k. My 2005 T5 AWD goes very well in the snow. The AWD only kicks in when the fronts slip.

According to the carfax, timingbelt and tensioner/idler arm were replaced at 110,220 mi.. I've seen nothing to indicate awd, this model is frontdrive w/traction control like the C30 I'm supposing. Never had a problem with that in winter. Appreciate the feedback, thanks.
