Tough/Offroad tires for S40
Hi all,
I recently moved across the county to a fairly industrial part of Texas. I find myself routinely going over rail road tracks (at least 10 each way to work), potholes, and 18-wheeler tire debris. Not surprisingly my current Michelin Primacy tires are not holding up.
Does anybody know of a good "offroad" (using this loosely) tire that I could put on my car that is more situated to these kind of conditions?

I've had one come apart after driving over a train track, and I've had another unravel on me on a highway after hitting a bump. Before that I still had a set of snow tires on them and one of those was downed by a nail, but I guess that's bad luck.
I just got busy but look into getting a XL or truck tire, would probably help u out a lot. You could go with a little bigger sidewall also, it would look a little funny with the 4x4 look but it would help the ride out alot and there would be less stress on the tires going over bumps; they probably would cheap also.
I'm a little late to the party but if you have really rough roads to drive you might also consider a non-radial tire. Radials are the greatest for regular paved roads but when you start to going over obstacles or do a lot of gravel road driving the radial construction is not the best.
Stop in to a tire store and talk to a tire guy about a light truck tire and possibly a bias-ply constructed one.
