I have a 2008 Volvo S40. The trunk has always been a little picky, but now I have problems getting it to latch fully. It will close, but only partially, so that you are still able to see into the sides a bit and the Trunk Open indicator remains on. I am having difficulty getting it to close all the way. Any ideas?

 

Have you checked to see if the bracket that the latch grabs on to is aligned. I had this issue with my tailgate on my 850 and it was because the bracket was not aligned correctly, so the latch would not lock against the second grab part.
