Has anybody else experienced this? When I go to tap the turn signal for a lane change it normally will blink three times and stop, whether left or right. Lately, I’ve noticed the left side doesn’t react to my tap sometimes, and I sometimes have to do a full-on turn signal press to get it to start working. Well, now to add to that, the right blinker now won’t stay on when a tap to actually make a turn. In fact, it’ll only blink three times, like it would when I tap for a lane change.

 

You didn't install aftermarket HID headlights? I've heard of those messing with the circuits on the CEM. Does the turn signal stalk feel the same? Just throwing out ideas.

 

Thanks for the reply, Hudini. I actually did install aftermarket HIDs, but I’ve had. Them for a few years with no problem until now. They’re Can Bus compliant, so I thought they d be fine. Do you know if there’s anything I can do short of removing them? The turn signal stalk seems to be the same. Just the issues I described.

With Volvo using Pulse Width Modulation to control the headlights, the entire discussion already begins above my knowledge level. Not much help I'm afraid.
