Victor Reinz cam cover sealant
I got real sticker shock at the Stealerships today as was quoted $58 for some sealant. I readily see Reinz for real cheap, are they good enough for Cam cover? Anaerobic sealant? Anyone know who makes it for Volvo? Thanks,
The Victor Reinz stuff was included in my head gasket replacement kit that I bought online.
The Victor Reinz stuff was pink in color and the strange thing was that it did not seem to harden like regular RTV. Maybe it just takes longer, I don't know. It kind of acted like Hylomar non-setting compound used on water pump gaskets.

Kinda steep but a Indy Volvo got me the Volvo sealant (pink stuff). For those in LA Cal, I got the head resurfaced, valve job, all buckets readjusted with some newer ones, and new valve seals for $240 with a one day turn around. This is a plug for Metric Engine in N Hollywood. Can't say enough good things about this shop. Soon as I get there they had the head on the bench testing it. He even rented out the cam cover pull down tool for it.
