Looking for help with a stage 2 turbo i have the car fully straight piped with a good power map on it a ramair filter thats just as good as a cold air intake i will be getting a bigger throttle body off a 2.4i s40 fits directly on and a intercooler from evolve for the car just need a bot of help with finding a turbo for the car that will fit with minor adjustment or none at all i dont want a hybrid turbo anybody i know that has one has popped them as the are very light and basically fragile i would like to stick to a garreth turbo

 

Not sure what turbo is on your specific engine but you should be able to find rebuild kits or services that use the existing housing and install new compressor/impeller wheels that add pumping capacity. Older volvos used the Mitsubishi TD04 series which come with a range of pumping capacity (ie a 16T or 18T is a "bigger" turbo in terms of air volume than a 13T or 14T...). Can you see any model numbers/plates on yours to help ID what the current turbo unit is?

 

It is a garreth Gt1544V turbo that is on the car i dont want to change internals because then its basically a hybrid turbo and they pop easily under load i want to make more boost from a bigger turbo a reliable one though and would you have any recommendations on a better camshaft for my car one that wont idle rough and help with the turbo...would a hybrid turbo pop on a stage 2 map obviously it will have all the air needed with the ramair filter intercooler and better throttle body?
