Hi there, im planning to get a used S40 next week, heard some problems with S40, if im going to get one, what year of S40 should i get and stay away from buying a used one of what year? thanks....

 

What year are you looking at?

Personaly, I would stick with a 2004.5 or newer, just because of the body style. It looks better.

What kind of problems have you been hearing about.

I have 10k on my car and its been good to me.

I got my S40 2005 2.4i used with 30.000miles back in Feb and i had not problems with it what so ever; I just love it; Let me know what specific problems you heard S40s have;

32400 miles now; i mostly use it during week-ends; but it is the best car i have ever had; which trim do you have? mine is 2005 s40 2.4i;

 

i got mine new as a graduation gift. i have 9176 miles on it. It is a great car, but have you driven the T5 version of it? It's verry nice. I have the same car as you. 2005 S40 2.4i but with some mods.

i got a BMC Sports AirFilter,
Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 tires
and a Heico Dual Sports Exhaust.

my parents wouldn't get me the T5, so i did some stuff to it to make me feel like i have a T5
