Default Wet Carpet

I have a 2005 S40 and my carpets are soaking wet. This is my store.

Before going to the car wash this weekend I wanted to remove my rubber floor mats. When I pulled them out I noticed the carpet was soaking wet. I removed the seat and pulled the carpet out to let it dry. I could not figure out where the water was coming from. Today it started to rain and I thought I would try to find the leak. I removed a couple of plastic trim and noticed that water was coming out from the area near bottom right corner of the front windshield. I could not get to the area of the windshield to much stuff need to be removed. If anyone can help me narrow the problem of the leak down, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks David.

After taking half the car apart and thinking my welds broke, I think I got it. As it turns out the sunroof drain was clogged. There is a small seep hole at both of the corners of the sunroof. One of mine was clogged. All I need to do was stick a small plastic tube about 4 inches and push the dirt out.

If I were you I would pull the a-pillar trim panels off and run some water down the drains just to make sure. I've had problems with the rubber grommets where the sunroof drains go through the cowl under the windshield. In heavy rains water will back up in the grommet and leak out where the clear tube goes in. This is often either from buildup under the cowl cover or from the grommet being improperly positioned from the factory.
It doesn't hurt to check while we're heading into the rainy season.
As an aside, what did you do to dry out your carpet?

Thanks for the advice I'll pull the a-pillar trim panels off, but the only thing is the when I tried to do that earlier, I saw that the side air bags are there and I did not want to play around with them. You have any advice.

For the carpet I took out the front seat and removed some floor panels, then picked up the carpet as much as I could and let it air dry. I also tried to use a hair dryer.

I was also thinking about using my air compressor and try to blow some compressed air thru the drain holes. what do you think about it.

If you do that with the compressed air you might blow the tubes off the sunroof assembly or the A pillar.
