Lightbulb Windshield washer fluid is not spraying out! help?

Hello, I own a 2001 Volvo s40 T 1.9. My windshield washer fluid is not spraying out no matter how long I hold down the lever, my resevoir is filled with fluid, I've had my dad open the hood while I'm holding the lever and the pump isn't running nor is anything leaking as far as he could see. What could be the issue? this problem occured from one day to the other. At first I thought I ran out of washer fluid but that wasn't the case. Any help or suggestions would be great! thanks!

If the wipers still work, but the pump doesn't it can't be the fuse. (as they are on the same one)
I would have someone check for voltage at the pump's power connector while you are activating it.

Could it be the fuse for the motor of the pump? yeah, the wipers do work but the pump isn't running.
