Default "shift up or slow down ? "...

Taking over for the missus here :-) She posted earlier that her S60 (2002) was showing this message shortly after start-up with a rough idle. Since then, the car has had the Ambient Pressure Sensor replaced (the dealership said it showed up as faulty) and two days ago I had the tensioner pulley replaced as well (it was starting to get squeaky). They cleaned the throttle body at the same time. Still the same problem.........Car runs smooth for the first minute or two at start-up and then starts to chug somewhat. If left running, the "shift up or slow down" message will appear. Funny thing is, when the engine is turned off and then re-started, it has run fine every time. I'm guessing a computer glitch somewhere ? Anybody else run into this issue ? Thanks tech and everyone here.

I would have to say a fault that only shows at times. But I think what needs to be done when the fault is showing and message still there the codes need to pulled then. If the car is shut off the codes clear.

Thanks tech. I'll probably have to leave it with them overnight again. It'll be sure to show on first start this way. One other question, if anybody might be able to answer. I've been wondering from things I've read about this "message", ....could the ECM module NOT being re-programmed at the time any other updates were carried out possibly cause this issue ? I forget where I read of this but I do recall reading it somewhere. I'd sure like to get this resolved.....minus this problem, the car's a pleasure.
