Default 04 s60 2.5T no spark no tach low compression

Hi first post. I have a 2004 s60 2.5T. It had what i thought was a broken timing belt when I got it because the belt and belt cover was worn and compression accross all cylinders was 50. I sent the head out thinking bent valves. Got it back and they only had to surface and grind valves. it still has 50 accross all cylinders so I am thinking the head was fine. I locked the cams and had both variable timing hubs full clockwise and marks lined up. Crank was on mark and I was sure timing was correct. I am really stumped now. Also have no spark and tach does not move when cranking. I replaced crank sensor and both cam sensors but no change.
Thanks for any help
Dan

Here is what I found. Low compression was a timing issue. The crank gear markings were not correct. When I removed the starter and installed a medium 3/8 extension in the service hole and turned the crank counter clockwise untill it stopped against the tool the marks on the crank were one full tooth off. When timing it this way it started right up. The no spark issue was two bad coils. They happened to be the two I checked when looking for spark. Now it runs smooth as silk. I learned not to trust any marks. Use factory service points and it will be timed everytime. How the crank gear got clocked one tooth off is a mystery to me. Three previous owners could not figure it out. My win. Got it for $4000.

Default 05 xc90 2.5 t5 awd

I bought my 2005 xc90 2.5t awd for $850. 180k mikes on it, clean as a whistle inside and out. Timing belt and components were changed at 179k. The guy I got it from said it died in the highway and didn't start back up. He took out the CEM. Said that he could not get the car to do anything, crank, start, no instrument cluster, no radio, no windows, locks, nada. So, I got it home, took out the CEM, cleaned it with 91% alcohol. Reinstalled, the car did start up for a brief second and die out.... I am getting fuel, but no spark.... Please help

Check your crank position and cam position sensors.
