2001 S60 Key Problems

Bought a 2001 S60 about 2 years ago and have had very few problems with it. When we bought the car it had one key and key fob. We found a key in the glove box that we assumed was a valet key. We tried it in the ignition and it would not work, so we just tossed it back in the glovebox and forgot about it.
Fast foward 2 years and the wife is cleaning out her car. She finds the key in the glovebox and tries it again in the ignition. Still doesn't work. Now she uses the key we have had for 2 years and lo and behold it will not work either. I assumed the steering wheel lock is just in a bind and try the key while moving the wheel back and forth. No dice, key still will not turn the cylinder. Tried unhooking the battery for a few minutes to reset anything that might have gone wrong. Still nothing.
Dealer is closed today, so I can't call and ask the service department.
Anyone out there ever experience this? Anybody know what to try next?
