Default 2001 Volvo S60 2.4L T5 hard starting/bucking

My Volvo has been taking several tries to start for past 3 months and I am beginning to be out of my depth in trying to repair it. I replaced the fuel filter, coils and plugs with no improvement. Car cranks strong but misfires when I start it(especially when it's cold out--takes up to 8 times of it stalling before it runs properly). once running, the car sometimes misses then usually corrects after driving a few minutes. I Put a brand-new fuel pump in it less than a year ago also. It may have been coincidence, but the problem started after bottoming out the front end on a steep driveway. Fuel pressure seems to be strong as well. If anyone has had any similar problems with this model, I would appreciate any advice. Thanks for the look, folks!

So took it to mechanic, they said fuel pressure is good and started right up cold, so they thought it was crankshaft sensor, switched that our, still the hard start. Now they think cam shaft sensor. So they will try that next week. Ugggh, hopefully I don't have to take this to dealer to figure out!

STOP- it's not your crank or cam sensors! Don't replace those!!!!

Some one is guessing.

Please find someone who can diagnose and repair your car - (without replacing stuff that's not bad and you don't need)

Sorry for your troubles.

Ah damn! Yeah I've used this gara2age for my domestic cars for years and they are good burt they even said they aren't volvo specialists. Guess I should bite the bullet and take it to a dealer or foreign car guy

I wonder if it could be evap / canister purge valve? Reading if it's malfunctioning it can lead to difficult starts. But it runs fine otherwise. Also might replace the gas cap

It will be neither of those, and you are still guessing.

man you were right! Took it to a volvo specialist, they figured it out in 2 hours. Turned out to be the CKP, CMP wires were interfering with the starter so they relocated the wires. Starts right up now! Thanks for the advice!
