2002 S60 Clogged Vent Line?
Hello, I have a 2002 S60 with about 140,000 miles. When filling up, gas backflows after about a few seconds. I took it into the shop and was told it has a clogged vent line. I was then told that to repair it, it will most likely cost upwards of $1,000! I was wondering if anyone has had any experiences similar to mine, and being your typical financially challenged college student, has anyone found a more affordable option? Thank you so much!

Go look for other repair shops or do it yourself so save big. If u can't do it, then u have no choice but to look for reputable shops or mechanic. Jack up the car and trace the filler hose going down to the tank and look for a hose connected to it. That is the vent line.
If this is a venting issue, how do you clean / clear?
Thanks for any and all help (other that sell the car)
It's a 2004 XC90 5 cyl Turbo

what i do is watch how many gallons are going in and when it gets close to full i just listen and as soon as i hear the gas begin to flow up i shut off the pump and everything is fine...just never have a friend fill up for you lol
