Default Clogged washer fluid line

Ever since I bought my car four years ago my windshield wiper fluid line has been clogged. I've never been able to get the washer fluid to come out of the two front windshield nozzles. It does have plenty of fluid in it and the rear windshield nozzle works just fine. In fact it's downright silly how much the rear nozzle excretes.

Anyway, has anyone else had this problem and are there any cheap remedies?

Thanks!

-Mike

The problem is usually the check / Tvalve being plugged up. It is an easy fix and it is only a $2.00 part at FCP. See part number 1392074....Lee

THe T valve is located under the engine hood sound insulation pad (just a by the way)

I got the t-fitting out for the two windshield nozzles. I tried cleaning it out but to no avail. I ordered the new t-fittings for the windshield nozzle and the headlight lamp.

I figured out that the thing must have been spraying the top-side of the sound insulation under the hood every time I used the sprayer.

I unplugged the t-fitting to make sure that the fluid was getting up there, made sure the tubes to the nozzles weren't plugged up, and put the fitting back in. The fluid started squirting out of the hole in the red cap.

Hope the new part remedies this problem. I've been through countless snow storms without them working. It definitely sucks when a semi kicks dirty snow up onto your windshield and the only thing you can do about it is move it around with the wipers.

Thanks for your help guys!

I would also replace the in-line filter, and if you can afford, I would go with upgraded squirters available at FCP Groton, if the new T-fitting did not solve the problem.

Will wait for your update. Hope all goes well.

I've had this problem before - if it's squirting from the hole in the red cap it means that the t-valve is bad. Apparently this is how it informs you that it's a bad valve.

Your replacement parts should work - let us know.

I'm having the reverse problem. Front windshield jets work fine, but the rear one does nothing. I can hear the little motor trying its hardest and it just slows down if you hold, but nothing trickles out whatsoever.

Update: OK. I popped the trunk open, got to the filter thing. It looked dirty, so I cleaned it out. Tested the line by placing it in a cup, and fluid came out. However, tried to blow on the tube that connects to the jet and I couldn't get anything. I'm guessing it's either something with the line or the nozzle?

The new t-fittings came today and fixed the problem! Seems like that past 4 years of dirty snowstorms and dusty summers were very avoidable [&o] I haven't changed out the headlight part, so those still don't work, but the sprayers for the windshield work perfectly. Thanks for all the help guys!

I'm having the same problem with my 850 Wagon - the fronts work great, the rear doesn't work at all... and until about a year ago it worked great. I can hear the pump working (mine also slows down a bit if you hold down the button). I found the filter for the rear one in the cargo area - do you guys think changing that filterwill fix my problem? Can I just take it out and clean it, or do I need a new one?

I hoping it's an easy fix.

Or, maybe it's not connected at the reservoir. But I have no idea what does what in that area. Anyone got a schematic for this?

Ok, I found this one....

I'll check that hose that connects to the bottom of the rear wiper motor - looks like a strange way to have the hose connected, maybe it's just kinked?
