Default 2003 S60 fuel pump - OES vs. Bosch

Hi folks,

So, I was left stranded on the side of the road recently when my fuel pump took a dive on the way home from work. It's glorious to have this happen during summer in North Florida. Anyway, i had the car towed to a local volvo shop and wsa quoted $652 for parts & labor to reaplce the pump. The part number on the quote indicates an OES part (30794757). I found one here, half-way down the page: VOLVO S60 FUEL SYSTEM 2001-2013 at Swedish Auto Parts. I decided to hold off on the repair inorder to do some research. I then found a Bosch alternative that appears to be the same part (W0133-1833765) here:http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/shop_parts/fuel_pump/volvo/s60.html.

My car is a 2003 base model s60 with a metal tank. As far as I can tell, the Bosch part is the correct pump and it's $176.

My question is this: has anyone else installed one of these Bosch pumps and had good service from it? Is there a good reason for me to go with the much more expensive OES part? The price difference is hard to ignore. Thank you in advance for sharing your thoughts and experience.

Regards,
Frank
