My honest opinion is that you wasted your money. I hope I'm wrong but I really doubt that I am. Bad tunes for the R's can have not so good results in the form of cracked cylinder walls. It's happened several times from poor tunes not controlling the AFR's properly and running too lean.

I would cancel the order ASAP and go with an ARD tune. Or even look at iPd for MTE's software, Elevate's AutoTech software or ViVA for the RiCA PPC tuner.

Hell, Here's the links to them below. All these tunes are proven to give the added HP and TQ they claim, and they're reliable. They also have excellent customer support (with the the exception of Elevate, there support is so, so at times) for any thing you may need. I have iPd/MTE stage II tune in my S60R and it's a great tune. Been running it for about 4 years and I've never had any problems associated with the tune. That being said, I'm going to delete the MTE tune and get my car dyno tuned by ARD this summer. Lucky @ARD writes tunes for each car and their associated Mods so you won't be getting a Generic base tune.

ADR
ARD - R Carbon

iPd
ipd Soft Loader Engine Managment Flash Tune

Elevate

ViVA

You won't be disappointed with ARD. I have there Stage III tune in my 850R and it's by far superior to the iPd stage III tune.

You Mechanic is almost right about the intake. Volvo did design a really good one for this car but it is prone to negative vacuum pressure at WOT. A guy on Swedespeed took pressure readings and then designed a snorkel intake that gives the OEM air box an extra port to get fresh air. iPd bought the design from him and now sells it. Or if you're handy you can do the same thing for much cheaper with a trip to home depot.
R Model Intake Kit

Also the SNABB post MAF intake pipe will also help the turbo breath easier by quite a bit...
Performance Turbo Intake Pipe 04-07 V70R S60R

With a downpipe and exhaust there are 3 options that are solid IMHO...
iPd has both and they'll be on sale shortly with the garage sale coming up this weekend. IIRC the internet garage sale is the following week but I may be wrong.
The second is waiting for EST's annual exhaust sale. You'll get some good savings there.
Or the cheapest rout to go would be to have an exhaust shop custom make a turbo back exhaust.
I have iPd's DP and a Ferrita cat back that is very similat to EST's exhaust. And with the resonator in, it is a very quiet exhaust with no droning, and with it out, it has a nice growl to it.

Do some research in the R Forums on SS and pay attention to this thread (Swedespeed Forums - S60R / V70R Modification & Repair Index get some more ideas.
