2004 Volvo S60 32k miles...Salvage vehicle?
About a year ago I had purchased a seemingly steal of a deal from a dealer in Florida, and to make a long story short I had picked out a lemon and had it shipped to me without ever seeing the car in the first place.
There are several things wrong with the vehicle, the mildest portion being water damage to the leather in the seats. The most damning of which being the suspension being shot, the airbag needs to be replaced, the rear right window won't go down, the back seat head rests won't go up, the steering wheel is somewhat detached from the actual steering mechanisms and can be turned 10 degrees without affecting the wheels.
My best guess? This car was wrecked by a hit to the rear passenger door and left in a lot with no rear windshield, allowing the rain to enter into the vehicle for a short period of time. The car was then rescued by someone at the dealership I purchased the vehicle from and made to look good for pictures on the internet, where it was then sold to my unsuspecting self.
I currently have a lien on the title of the car which I plan to pay off as soon as I can, in the mean time I would like to make the best of my situation and any advice on how to do so would be appreciated!
My best plan so far has been to pay the lien off as much as possible, and then sell the car for parts. If memory serves, my engine has only 32k miles give or take, I can't check the exact number at the moment as the battery isn't connected right now. I'm sure there is equity in this lemon, I just can't make use of it.

I can't speak for the other problems, but the rear headrests need to be pushed up manually. Putting them down is the only automatic part, which is done using a button in the console.
If you care to disclose, how much did you pay for the car?

I should have mentioned, whenever this wreck (that never happened according to the dealership) occurred, the headrests either were already down, or went down afterwards, while surrounded by bits of windshield. There is broken glass in the holes for where the headrests go down, keeping them from going back up into a locked position.
As for the overall cost, I'll just say the loan is at 6.5k after a year and a half of payments. I've got it through USAA, and when I get another car with a clear title I should be able to do a collateral swap.

This was an out of state deal, I'm in Texas. And we've already sent the attorney general about 150 pictures and a full write up of the whole thing from A to Z, got a letter stating they are processing our submission. This was January I think. Not been any lawyers that I could find willing to take the case pro-bono either.
you could certainly sell it off piece by piece but you would have to do an analysis of what is there and what it is all worth
the thing to remember is that a junk yard will give you pennies on the dollar but then its no longer your problem.
