2005 S60 5T: Sounds like a Diesel in Idle
The Check Engine light of my 2005 S60 5T, 153k miles, came on. Two days later it sounded like a Diesel in Idle, after about 5 minutes. Diesel ticking/knocking disappears when RPM goes up.
Sound comes from the area marked in the attached photo. Went to my repair shop and they found codes: ECM-6140 -- Camshaft control exhaust -- Slow ECM-611B -- Camshaft control, intake. Faulty Repair shop says that some gears (?) the timing belt runs over are wearing out - I guess they refer to some tensioners etc? Will bring it in to them for checking and estimate in a week. Does this sound familiar to some? How big of a repair is that? Thanks! https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/volvofo...26a0b27450.jpg |
Did you find out what was wrong with it ?
|
There were several things going on at that time.
The ticking noise was from oil sludge. Did an oil change with engine flush and all was good. |
And the codes for the camshaft position sensor I have the same ones and thanks for the info
