2011 s60 d3 sudden very poor mpg (no eml)
Hi all,
Im not sure this is in the right place? Sorry if i have posted it in the wrong place - First time poster..
Hopefully someone might be able to give me some pointers in the right direction?
I have a 2011 S60 D3 diesel model, roughly three weeks ago, i had a seized caliper on my N/S/F which i replaced, I had noticed it by vibration up through the front end and then i noticed the wheel was giving off a smell and very hot, i replaced the caliper and the front disks and pads. Job done or so i thought..
Since then the fuel economy is terrible (approx half of what it used to be..) - I have jacked up every wheel and they all spin freely, so im starting to think thats it is an engine issue which has developed either as a result of the sticking caliper or just coincidently at the same time. (The miles left dash display was very accurate, now its dropping like a stone) No engine warning lights are illuminated, but the mpg is still terrible - it used to be really good especially on a motorway run, apart from the bad mpg, it runs fine - plenty of power, smooth etc..Ive had it up on ramps and there are no fuel leaks, no exhaust leaks etc.. - Everything seems as it should be..
Just wondering if anyone has had similiar issues? or any suggestions on what to try next? - im gonna try filling the tank with the BP 'expensive' diesel.. plus stick some fuel system cleaner in at the same time, in the hope that if its a dirty injector issue that it may help?. but other than that, im at a dead loss..And dreading the thought of a very expensive garage bill
plus ive got some major motorway miles coming up in the next two weeks and worried about how much its gonna cost just to do a couple of long journeys in it..
Any help/suggestions would really be appreciated..
Many thanks in advance,
Steve
