I just got this car a few months ago and it has been great so far. Just got this message popping up on the screen in my instrument panel (Engine System Service Required) along with the amber "I" light. What do I do? Times are tight but I love this car. Thank you!

Autozone and other big box parts store often "rent" scanner tools for free. You just need to find the OBD2 connector port usually under the dash on the drivers side by the transmission tunnel (looks like an old school computer printer port - about 2-3 inches long by 3/8 inch wide) plug the scanner into that, turn the key to position 2 and you'll be able to view the stored codes. write down the codes (usually they will be "P" codes ie P0171 or P0301 etc) then you can clear them. If something is truly wrong, the diagnostic code will simply reset and the CEL will return.

Sometimes, you do have to read the car with VIDA to see what the code is that is setting it off. For me it was a MAF code and my CEL was not on. I just recently changed where the wire was routed and it was too close to ignition wires, causing interference. In my situation I just had to move them back to the original spot. Although I don't know what you mean by amber I light.
