Anyone have this happen on such a late model? Took it for inspection just 3 weeks ago, the mechanic said the gas cap failed emissions test. They replaced it for me with a non-OEM aftermarket replacement and everything passed.

Last night, CEL comes on, I take get the codes pulled and 3 times it comes back "P0442 - EVAP (evaporative emission system) small leak/no flow condition"

There was no CEL before inspection and subsequent gas cap replacement, sooooo.....probably not the cause, right?

Thoughts?

I had the same problem on my 2012 S60 T5. I replaced the gas cap over a month ago, the light did not go out. I probably drove it 2000+ miles with the light on and only the P0442 code when checked. Today I came out of work and the light was off, I have not seen it since. Did your's also go away on its own?

I'm struggling with this same problem, 2012 s60 T5, same error code, I had the gas cup replaced like 3 years before, but the CEL comes back over and over agail after random distances/times with the same code.
Did you find any solution? I'm living in the EU but the car is the US version (the previous owner brought it back to EU), andsince the evap system is different from what the EU versions have, the services don't want to work with it, they don't want to promise that changing any parts will solve the problem, since they're not sure of it...

Yes, my issue was exactly like yours and the solution is amazingly simple! I switched to higher octane/better brand gas and the problem went away after about a week, I have not seen it since. I used to use discount gas from Kroger, now I use 89/90 octane from a brand name gas station. Give this a try, it's the easiest fix you can get. Best of luck.
