Default 2015 s60 knocking while turning

9000 miles. When i make a left turn i hear a knock knock that sounds like its coming from the steering column. Any ideas as to what this might be?

It only has 9K miles. Take it to the dealer and let them figure it out. With no more info than you have given here all you will get is guesses, and with it being that new it is highly unlikely that it is the most obvious issue of noise when turning which would be a CV joint.

What other info would be helpful?

Does it change tone/pitch, frequency, etc., depending on speed, sharpness of turn, braking, etc.? Is it a sharp or dull knock, meaning metal on metal or maybe more of a rubber on metal? But like I said before, getting opinions here isn't really that helpful when you are brand new and under warranty. It is the dealer tech's job to assume nothing and simply identify the root cause and necessary correction. Forum opinions are not likely to help him or influence him because he can observe it actually occurring (hopefully). Now if you were trying to identify it to do a DIY repair the opinions here may be of some use.

I have the same thing and it's only when turning left. The dealership stated that they are aware that there is a rubbing that happens with the left turn and isn't uncommon. I'm wondering is it a design flaw.

Worst case CV Joints. Easy to fix and not design flaw but sometimes they go early. You don't have to replace both at the same time.

Best case a piece of the brake shield may be bent/loose and can be bent back.
