Default 2017 S60 Alarm goes off for no reason

Yesterday morning, after the temp dropped to 30s, when I pressed unlock from the key fob, it triggered the alarm. It happened a few months b4 but that's due to battery running low and I replaced it with Costco's battery so the battery should be fine (as I later charged it with charger, it only took less than 90 minutes to confirm the battery should be good). And I disabled the battery after I managed to get in and pop the hood. I inserted the fob and started the car ok. But being cautious I didn't go drive it. I did a little search for similar posts, but I don't think my hood is open/partly open that has caused that to happen, so here's my questions:

1) What's the proper way to turn off the alarm? I panicked so I used blade key, unlock, pressed lock, unlock back n forth, used key to open door again...But actually I don't remember if this was the sequence of my attempts and I don't know/remember what actually shut it, hence the question...

2) What might have caused this? The temp drops? I hope not--it's only a drop less than 15 degrees so if this is the cause then shutting the alarm will become my new daily routine. And the last time I drove it was the day before, it felt fine till this morning's drama.

3) Since I disconnected the battery n reconnected it later (within 3 minutes I think, no longer than 10 min), do I need to reset the code or something?

Thanks.
