2018 s60 t5: tire pressure sensor malfunction
Hi everyone, new to the forum,
I have a 2018 S60 T5 Inscription and it's been having some tire pressure sensor issues recently. Took it to the dealership and they claimed no tire punctures, all tires inflated properly (checked myself multiple times), and no obvious issues with the tire pressure sensors. I get the feeling they didn't do as thorough a job as they could have . . .
What happens is the warning comes on that my back left tire is low, but I check it and it's not low. It won't go away no matter how many times I calibrate the system. And, even weirder, sometimes the system will say all four tires are low.
Anyone have an idea what could be going on?
Thank you!

what kind of pressure monitor system do you have - ie metal or rubber valve stems? (metal stems means there is a sending unit inside the tire, rubber means the car uses the ABS system's wheel speed sensor to monitor rotational speed differences between the wheels and if a wheel is outside the expected range, it triggers the warning. Assuming you have the rubber stems, it can mean the wheel speed sensor for that wheel is out of calibration or not functioning all the time or your monitor system needs to be recalibrated or has a software issue. Seems the dealer should be caring for this as part of the warranty.
