The liftgate on my 21 V60 is settling at 3/4 of the way lately. When I open it from either the dash button or the rubber hand switch on the gate itself it goes up all the way then slowly drops down a quarter of the way. I tried setting it according to the manual but it still ends up on 3/4 of the way open. Also I noticed that I don't hear the double beep when I trying to program it to the highest height.
I've smashed my head twice now on the stupid thing thinking it was all the way up.

Any help?

 

I had the exact same problem. At first I thought I could use the height adjust procedure to correct it, but that didn't work. Took it to the dealer. They said the lift struts needed replacement. Special order. Dropped it off last night, I just picked it up. The ticket said the old struts were "coming apart".
