Hi,

I am looking at an 08 s60 with 21k. it will be a certified from a volvo dealer. I have a few questions thou. First off anything in paticular I should check? What does satellite prep mean? I know its for satellite radio but what are the specifics. Also there seems to be a speaker grill or something in the center of the dash is this anything special?

Satellite prep means that they ran the melbus cable that is needed to attach to the headunit...that's it. You would still need to get their satellite receiver. You can sometimes find them on ebay for a fraction of what the dealer charges. The center grill either houses the center speaker if you have the HU-850 stereo or the navigation screen if it's equipped with it.

do you happen to know how many keys came from the factory on an 08? is it suppose to be 2 masters and a valet. also do s60's have radio codes like 850s?

 

I know I got 3 keys (2 masters, 1 valet) when I bought my 05. If it doesn't have 2 masters I would definitely get the dealer to get a new one because to buy it after the fact is at least $250.

No radio codes that I know of. As far as the center speaker, it may just be an empty space unless you have an HU-850 head unit.
