Default ABS Brake System Failure - Check engine

I have a Volvo S60R and yesterday my check engine light came on along with the ABS light and the brake light. On the left of the instrument panel it read brake system failure. When this happened a number of electrical issues occurred; the tach/speedo/temp gauges all went dead and the AC went to blowing warm air. I turned off the car and turned it back on and only the check engine light remained. All the gauges back to working and the air back on. Today I was driving and all of a sudden the same issue with all the brake lights, warning and gauges went out and the air. I turned it off and back on and again only the check engine light remained.
I called Volvo and they said maybe something with the ABS or you might check if the battery is dying. I stopped at Auto zone and had them check the battery, it was fine 100%. I had them pull the codes and it pulled a U0002 "High Speed CAN Communication Bus (+) Open" and a P0571 "Cruise control brake switch malfunction". Now these definitions are probably generic and not specific to Volvo but it is the only thing i have to go on.
I installed slotted drilled rotors and new hawk pads about six months ago and have check the mechanical side, brakes still work fine. Look i can drive without my gauges, but it is 100+ in Houston and I gotta have my air.
Any suggestions, I would be glad to hear them
