Default AC recharge after condenser replaced

I replaced the AC condenser on my 2008 S60 2.5T after some minor front end damage. No real problems there.
However, when adding refrigerant, I can't get the full amount in because the compressor wont come on. Compressor wont come on because the pressure is too low.... but I can't get the pressure up in less the compressor comes on. Sort of a Catch-22.

Any tips on getting the compressor to come on so I can get that last pound of r134A in?

Thanks,
John

you really should have the system professionally charged so they can evacuate the system of all impurities/moisture etc and put in the correct amount of oil. With that said, you should be able to jumper the low pressure sensor to allow the compressor to kick on. Look on the line coming from the firewall into the compressor

Yeah the system really should be put under a vacuum first. Then it basically fills itself.
