Air bag error codes 0031 and 0035

Air bag error codes 0031 and 0035
Hello to the Volvo community.
Since last week the SRS air bag light is on my daughter's 2004 S60 2.5T. Today I read the codes using my IPD softloader program and it gave me 2 error codes: "SRS-0031 Adaptive steering column. Resistance too high" and "SRS-0035 Front left side impact protection (SIPS) bag. Resistance too low. Intermittent fault".
Sounds like a bad contact somewhere. Anybody has any idea where I should start my search? Any input/suggestion would be very much appreciated.
